Your Relationship With God Can Begin Today! Who is Jesus Christ? Why did God send Jesus? We were created to have fellowship with God; but, because of our own stubborn self-will, we choose to go our own independent way and our fellowship with God is broken. Our self-will, which is shown by an attitude of active rebellion or an inactive concern, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin. Source Scriptures: Romans 3:23 and 6:23 How do we obtain a personal relationship? Step 1 Admit by confessing that you are a sinner. Recognize that all your good works will never be enough to earn God's forgiveness for your sin, and that He wants you to accept salvation as His gift to you. (Romans 3:23 and 6:23) Step 2 Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He loves you enough to have died for you. Believe that His death assures your forgiveness and life eternally. (John 3:16 and 6:40) Step 3 Repent of your sins. Ask God to forgive you and He will because of His death on the cross. Then sincerely choose to turn away from sin in every area of your life. (Acts 3:19; Ephesians 4:22; Colossians 3:8) Step 4 Yield your heart to Christ Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Savior of and over your life. Receive His love for you and allow Him to direct your life. (Romans 10:9-10; Revelation 3:20) Here's a prayer of faith you can say to accept Jesus into your heart: "Father God, Thank you for loving me so much that You sent Your son to die for my sins. I believe He died and rose again from the dead according to your Word. I confess that I am a sinner. I now ask you, Jesus, to come into my heart to wash me from all sin, make me a new creature, and be Lord of and over my life. Help me Lord to yield my ways to Your ways and live the life that You predestined for me from this day on in Jesus' Name, Amen."
